If a child over 16 is accused of a serious crime, the Juvenile Justice Board will check if they understood what they did. They'll look at the child's mental and physical state, and the situation around the crime.
💡 Real Life Example
A 17-year-old, A, is accused of robbery. The Board will assess if A understood the crime and its consequences before deciding how to handle the case.
