🗣️ Simple Explanation

This section lists the rules for a Hindu marriage. You can only marry if you're not already married, you're of sound mind, and meet the age requirements (21 for the groom, 18 for the bride). You also can't marry close relatives unless your family tradition allows it.

💡 Real Life Example

A and B want to marry. A is already married. Their marriage is not valid. C and D are cousins, but their family allows marriage between cousins, so their marriage is valid.

🛡️ KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
  • You have the right to a valid marriage if you meet the conditions.
  • You can't be forced into a marriage if you don't meet the mental capacity requirements.
  • Your marriage is invalid if you are already married.
