🗣️ Simple Explanation

If someone makes a false claim or defends a case without a good reason, the court can make them pay extra costs to the other person. These costs are to compensate for the trouble and expenses caused. The maximum amount the court can order is ₹3,000.

💡 Real Life Example

A sues B, claiming B owes him money. A knows the claim is false. The court finds the claim is false and orders A to pay B ₹1,000 as compensatory costs for wasting B's time and money.
