If someone helps or encourages another person to commit a crime, and that help is itself a crime, the law assumes they are guilty of abetting the crime. They are considered to have helped in the crime unless they can prove otherwise.
The punishment for the abetted crime.
A provides the weapon to B, knowing B intends to commit a robbery. If B commits the robbery, A is presumed to have abetted the robbery, unless A can prove he didn't know B's intentions.
